Sniper: Ghost Warrior to taktyczna gra akcji, w której gracz przejmuje kontrolę nad doświadczonym snajperem i wyrusza w bój przeciwko reżimowi politycznemu wyspiarskiego państwa Isla Trueno. Produkcja została opracowana przez polską firmę City Interactive, mającą w dorobku m.in. serie Code of Honor oraz Terrorist Takedown.

Demokratyczny rząd państwa Isla Trueno upada. Kontrolę przejmuje rosnąca w siłę, agresywnie nastawiona junta (władza wojskowa), w związku z czym sytuacja robi się niebezpieczna. Zauważają to władze państwowe krajów Zachodu, które decydują się na wysłanie w miejsce konfliktu specjalnego oddziału żołnierzy, mającego pomóc rebeliantom w przywróceniu do władzy członków obalonego rządu.

Po części warunkują to projekty poziomów, których akcja bardzo często ma miejsce na sporym obszarze Isla Trueno.
Twórcy duży nacisk położyli na jak najlepsze odwzorowanie warunków „pracy” snajpera. Biorąc udział w walkach gracz musi zatem zwracać baczną uwagę m.in. na siłę i kierunek wiatru, a także ukształtowanie terenu czy jego pokrycie roślinnością.
